Rockford University Gets $22,950 Grant for Nonprofit Program

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford University scores a major donation to help local nonprofits.

The Rockford University Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence received $22,950 from the Barber-Colman Management Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. The schools says it will use the money for its Leadership Cafe Program which allows local non-profits to learn how to better serve the community. Director Pam Clark Reidenbach says the program wouldn't exist with out the help from the foundation.

"This is a long standing relationship and partnership that we have had with the community foundation. So we are deeply grateful for their donation this year but really more grateful for their partnership for the last ten," Clark Reidenbach said.

In the past 10 years the Northern Illinois Center For Nonprofit Excellence has received more than $140,000 from the partnership with the community foundation.
