Rockford Police Respond to Shooting Victim

UPDATE: Rockford Police Detectives conducted follow up investigation into the incident and authorized charges of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Battery with a Firearm against 24-year-old Scotty Valentine of Rockford and a 16-year-old boy also of Rockford.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Valentine and the juvenile male.

Later today, the 16-year-old was located in a retail establishment in the 900 block of a school and a quantity of suspected cannabis. He has since been charged with the additional charges of Armed violence, unlawful use of a weapon, No FOID, and Violation of the Cannabis Control Act, possesion with the intent to deliver cannabis within 1000 feet of a school.


ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Just before 2:00 p.m. on November 12, Rockford Police responded to the 1200 block of S. Winnebago St. in reference to a shooting victim.

A man in his early 20's suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Police say he's expected to be fine.

Police say they are looking for two black men who fled from the house in a gold or tan SUV. Neighbors called the police.
