Rockford Man Arrested for Stealing Stove

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- On Thursday, September 5th, 2013 at approximately 7:30 AM, members of the Rockford Police Department responded to 7406 Ashton Villa in regards to a Residential Burglary.

Officers were advised unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by an unknown means and took a stove. Officers learned the stove was equipped with a tracking device.

The information concerning the stove and tracking device was given to all law enforcement agencies in the area.

Members of the South Beloit Police Department located the vehicle carrying the stolen stove at the Citgo Gas Station at 810 Blackhawk Blvd.

The driver of the vehicle who was identified as Jason A. Hauff, was taken into custody without incident. Burglary tools were located in the vehicle.

Detectives from several agencies conducted follow up investigation into the incident. Hauff was charged with the following:

Jason A. Hauff, 44 years of age, Rockford, Illinois
Possession of Stolen Property (South Beloit PD)
Possession of Burglary Tools (South Beloit PD)
Traffic charges (South Beloit PD)
Residential Burglary 7406 Ashton Villa (Rockford PD)
Residential Burglary 800 Quill Drive (Roscoe PD)

The charges against Hauff are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
