ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man who's out on parole for burglary allegedly gets caught red handed.
Police say they watched Darcell Gills, 27, Wednesday afternoon go into a building in the 2600 block of 11th Street with a large white tool bag. When he came out they followed him to a scrap metal buyer, where they accuse gills of trying to sell pipes. When officers tried to arrest him he hit a detective. Gills is being charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.
