Rockford Man Arrested; Charged for May 6 Murder

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- After going unsolved for over a month, an arrest has been made in the shooting death of a Rockford man and police didn't have to go far to make the arrest.

Lorenzo Kent Jr., 23, was served his arrest warrant while sitting in the Winnebago County Jail. He was already in custody on another charge.

Kent is accused of gunning down Donmarquis Jackson, 30, on May 6, 2013 in the 1400 block of Nelson Boulevard in Rockford. Jackson was shot several times in the driveway of the home he was renting and later died at the hospital. Kent faces two counts of first degree murder.
