Rockford Home Invasion Under Investigation

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- At 7:24pm this evening, officers were called to a home in the 500 block of Island Ave. where there was a report of a Home Invasion. Officers learned that the suspect entered the residence, a two story apt. building, through lower door that leads into staircase, which leads into upper apartment. Victim heard noise went into staircase where she was met by the suspect who lead her back into the apartment at gun point and made her sit on floor. The second resident came out of a bedroom and was made to also sit on floor, at which point the suspect demanded their money. The victims turned over U.S. dollars and the suspect fled the apartment. The victims saw this suspect minutes before arriving home from shopping at a nearby store where the suspect is known to hang out front. At the time of this writing, the suspect may be called "Rick," a black male in his 40's. No shots fired, no one injured. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 815-987-5824
