ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Average gas prices around the Rockford area have risen seven cents per gallon this week, averaging at $3.55 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, the current average is still 24 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 32 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
The national average fell 0.4 cents per gallon this week to remain around $3.57 per gallon. That price is also considered lower compared to other times -- it's 10 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 13 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
"Cooler weather typically brings relief as demand declines and discretionary travel ebbs," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst, in a press release. "Pump prices may drift lower over the next few days."
