ROCHELLE (WIFR) -- A Stateline restaurant is being honored for its great food and service.
Flight Deck Bar and Grill is in the heart of the Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle and on Friday it was given the "Illinois Five Prop Award". That means its the top airport restaurant in all of Illinois. You don't need a plane ticket to get but local pilots can fly in for lunch or dinner. Restaurant owner Douglas Smith says the businesses success wouldn't have been possible with out the help of the Rochelle community.
"One of the things that really drew us to Rochelle is the support that we get from the council, from the mayor, from the locals here in town, the airport. Just unbelievable able support from the top down," Smith said.
Smith says when pilots fly in for a meal they also help boost business at the airport when buying gas.
