STATELINE (WIFR) -- As we get closer to summer we also get closer to construction season. And many of you on Facebook asked what are some major projects that are planned for the Stateline.
Well we checked in with the Illinois Department of Transportation.. and about a doze projects are scheduled for this summer in the stateline. The biggest one in terms of costs is a $48,200,00 lane addition and bridge reconstruction on I-90 from the Wisconsin State Line to Rockton Road.
Here are the other local projects according to IDOT's Highway District 2 Project Descriptions.
US 20 Freeport Bypass: From US 20 Business West of Freeport to West of IL 26. $16,260,000. Additional Lanes. 4.01 Miles.
US 20 Business/West State Rockford: Sunset Ave. to West of Kent Creek. $11,750,000. Reconstruction, Intersection Improvement. 0.79 Miles.
IL 2 S. Main Street, Rockford: North of Beltline Road to 0.4 Miles North of Harrison Avenue. $13,500,000. Reconstruction. 2.2 Miles.
IL 173 West Lane Road, Machesney Park and Loves Park: IL 251 to 0.6 Miles East of Mitchell Road in Loves Park. $6,000,000. Land Acquisition.
Fairview Blvd., Rockford: North Branch Keith Creek, North of State Street. $850,000. Bridge Rehabilitation.
Harrison Ave., Rockford: 11th Street to 20th Street. $8,325,000. Reconstruction. 0.75 Miles.
