ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Record breaking numbers for the Chicago-Rockford Airport. March was the busiest month ever, with more than 35,000 passengers flying out of the Forest City.
The previous record was set in March of 2012 with 33,000 passengers. Airport officials say the jump in numbers is because of restored flights to Ft. Myers, Florida. Overall last month flights at RFD were 92% full. The big numbers come on the heels of a disappointing report in February when RFD was nearly 10% behind its passenger numbers from 2012.
