ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Just in time for classes to resume, Rock Valley College celebrates the grand opening of a new building today.
The Karl J. Jacobs center for science and math is officially open. The state of the art facility was a 28-million dollar project that is almost two years in the making. It’s named after a long time president of RVC who hoped to meet community needs through programs at the college.
The fall semester starts on Monday. Classes will be held in the new center for science and math.

Why doesn't the media report that RVC has more than $30 million in debt, that's right thirty-million in debt. While everyone wants to talk about the federal deficit, who is looking over the RVC board, clearly not local media.
