RVC Trustee Accepts State Leadership Role

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Each year, in addition to standard duties, at least one RVC trustee is responsible for representing Rock Valley College as a member of the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA). ICCTA was created in 1970 with a two-fold mission: to provide community college advocacy and trustee development opportunities to the board members of the state's public community colleges.

Current RVC trustee Mary Tuite is the College’s liaison to ICCTA. As such, she attends ICCTA meetings and is responsible for keeping her fellow trustees, as well as the RVC administration, aware of any issues which may affect the College. This year, Tuite has been appointed as the vice-chair of ICCTA’s Diversity Committee, a group of ICCTA members committed to making the utmost efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
