STATELINE (WIFR) -- A lot of Stateliners spent the morning getting ready to dig themselves out, before the snow started falling. People rushed to pick up supplies. Everything from snow boots, to shovels, to hundreds of pounds of salt.

Loading supplies in the rain got a little tricky, but shoppers say the last minute haul was necessary, especially because nobody wants to get stranded during the holidays.

"Getting prepared for the snow tonight. They say we're supposed to get 6-10”. I guess. I haven't heard the latest so just trying to get prepared before the rush," said Rockford shopper, Rick Mcvinnie.
