UPDATE: Poplar Grove Woman Sentenced for Role in Drug Related Death

UPDATE: BOONE COUNTY (WIFR) -- A Poplar Grove woman will spend six years in jail for her role in a drug related death in 2013.

48-year-old Debra Schlaiss delivered the drug Fentanyl to a Belvidere man who died after taking it.

Schlaiss pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter and a drug delivery charge.

BOONE COUNTY (WIFR) -- After a year long investigation by Belvidere Police a Poplar Grove woman is arrested.

Debra Schlaiss, 46, was arrested Wednesday for delivering the prescription drug fentanyl to a Belvidere man who died after using the drug.

Police say Trevor Burke died last July after taking the drug. Schlaiss is charged with drug induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
