From the Rockford Police Department:
At about 4:00am RPD responded to the area of 1500 Spring Court for a person stabbed. On arrival, officers located an adult male who had been stabbed in the leg. Injury is non life threatening. Victim stated he was approached by a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. After a short conversation, that person stabbed the victim, and then fled on foot.
At about 2:17am RPD was sent to the area of 2200 11th St for 2 cars shooting at eachother. Nothing was located. A short time later, an adult male went to an area hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg. Non life threatening, and he was uncooperative. At about 0246 hrs, officers responded to 1100 9th Ave for a car that crashed into a tree. That car was on scene but no one was around it. Shell casings were present. A short time later, an adult male went to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his head. His injury is non life threatening. A black car was developed as a suspect vehicle in this incident. At about 0323 hours, that car was located abandoned on the west side of the city. At about 0330 hrs, an adult male entered an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his wrist area. His injuries are non life threatening. These incidents are under investigation and it is unknown if they are all related.
