UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit in Belvidere Expected to be OK

UPDATE: BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- The pedestrian struck by a car early Monday morning in Belvidere is expected to survive.

Police say 53-year-old Vincent Pedroza walked into a car driving through the intersection of Appleton and Newburg. The driver is from Minnesota and hasn't been charged.

Officers tell us they're still investigating.


BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- A pedestrian is fighting to survive tonight after being struck by a car early this morning.

It happened just after 5:00 a.m. in Belvidere. The person was crossing Appleton Road when a car traveling on Newburg hit the victim who is now in critical condition.

Police are still investigating, but so far the driver has not been ticketed.
