Rockford Police Department Press Release:
Around 6:02 pm on 2-4-13 officers responded to a pedestrian traffic crash in the 4100 block of Harrison Ave. Further investigation showed a Rockford resident, a 68 year old man, had been struck while crossing the street by a vehicle that was headed west bound on Harrison Ave. The man was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for life threatening injuries. Names are not being released at this time. There have been no charges filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: A 68-year-old Rockford man remains in critical and life threatening condition after he was hit by a Jeep trying to cross Harrison Avenue last night.
The woman driving the jeep was not injured and she will not face any charges
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The area of Alpine and Harrison in Rockford is shut down to traffic, after a pedestrian hit by car.
Police say a man walking along the road was hit just before 6:00 p.m. Monday. The victim is now facing life threatening injuries. Accident reconstruction is expected to go on for a while longer.
