PAWS Asking Local Residents to Consider Pet Adoption This Holiday

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local organization is encouraging local residents to reach out to strays in our community.

Right now, the PAWS Humane Society is hosting their first ever 12 Hours of Love Christmas Adoption event outside of Petco on East State Street. The event encourages us to rescue one of around 50 stray cats or a dozen stray dogs up for adoption.

Chris Everett, President, PAWS Humane Society, says, "The holiday time, a lot of people want to help out. And all these animals have been abandoned or strays. And they all need your help. None of them have homes and they would all love a home for Christmas."

The 12 Hours of Love event is still running until 9 p.m. tonight.
