SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) -- Three suburban Chicago police officers charged with operating a drug ring using marijuana and cocaine seized from dealers have resigned from the Schaumburg Police Department.

Terrence O'Brien, Matthew Hudak and John Cichy were placed on administrative leave after they were charged with drug conspiracy, armed violence and theft.

In a statement Wednesday, Village Manager Ken Fritz said based on information obtained by the village's own investigation "we are pleased to accept their resignations."

Village spokesman David Bayless said Hudak resigned last week, and O'Brien and Cichy resigned Tuesday.

During a hearing Wednesday in DuPage County Circuit Court, a judge agreed to allow cameras in court Thursday for a motion hearing.

The Cook County state's attorney's office has dismissed charges against 15 defendants involved in seven cases investigated by the three.
