ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local hospital now has one of the newest pieces of technology in one of its operating rooms.
Doctors and nurses at OFS St. Anthony Medical Center showed off their new da Vinci Surgical System. They got the new high tech tool in June and just started using it last month. The robot gives surgeons a 3D, high-definition view of complex operations. The da Vinci robot allows doctors to do minimally invasive operations, which the normal human hand wouldn't be able to perform. The da Vinci Surgical System can be used in a lot of operations including heart and prostate surgeries.
