Rockford (WIFR) – Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center (NIHGC) honored Bruce Ewald and the Harder Family, owners of Harder Signs Co., Inc., as outstanding volunteers during the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) “Honor Your Own” banquet on April 16th, 2013.
Ewald was nominated for his numerous hours of service and financial support to the organization over the past 28 years. He is a long-standing member of the board of directors and has served three times as board president.
The Harder Family, owners of Harder Signs Co., Inc., also were recognized for their long-term support of the agency.
“Volunteers and donors are the backbone of a nonprofit, community hospice,” executive director Lisa Novak said, “and Bruce Ewald and Donna Harder and her children John and Becki are great examples of what can be accomplished by passionate, caring people. For decades, they have quietly contributed to the mission of Northern Illinois Hospice.”
AFP holds the “Honor Your Own” banquet annually, allowing non-profit organizations to recognize individuals for their outstanding dedication and efforts as a volunteer.
