News Production Center Coming to the Rockford Register Star Tower

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Extra space inside the Rockford Register Star Tower means dozens of new jobs are coming to the Forest City.
GateHouse Media is bringing one of its news production centers to Downtown Rockford.The move means more than 60 copy editor jobs will be created.
GateHouse Media owns nearly 200 newspapers, including the Rockford Register Star, and says they were looking to locate a news desk in the Chicagoland area and Rockford's close proximity made it a logical choice.
The media outlet will launch a website at the end of February to begin the hiring process.
