DURAND (WIFR) -- Medina Manor in Durand cut the ribbon for a new, on-site dialysis unit specifically designed for rehabilitation patients having end stage renal disease.
Over one year in planning and building, Medina Manor’s dialysis unit is designed to serve patients requiring short rehabilitative and nursing care within a 50-mile radius of Durand. It will result in the creation of up to 11 new jobs.
Medina Manor’s new dialysis unit is staffed by experienced, licensed dialysis RNs and technicians who are CPR and AED certified, in partnership with PRS LLC Dialysis of Elmhurst, IL. Also working with patients are renal dietitians, renal social workers and board certified nephrologists.
“With our new onsite dialysis unit,” says Holgeir Oksnevad, Medina Administrator, “patients will be able to receive both therapy and dialysis in the same environment. The three-times-a-week transportation for dialysis treatments will be eliminated. This will result in quicker rehabilitation to home and fewer hospital readmissions.”
Medina Manor is Medicare Certified and accepts most insurance. Its award winning services include rehabilitative care, long term care, inpatient and outpatient therapy. The facility is located at 402 Center St., Durand, IL. For more information call Medina Manor at 815-248-2151.
