NPR's Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! Stops in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A national radio show made a local stop in Rockford. It's a game show who's title contains five words most people at some point say when listening to or watching a game show. "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me".

The quirky quiz show has been on NPR since 1998 and it plays on stations around the country. Thursday nights show at the Coronado Theater was nearly sold out. The basic idea of the program is listener's call in to compete in various games with questions based on this week's news. A panel of three comedians or journalists are usually on hand to help. The show featured local guitarist Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick playing along. If you couldn't make tonight's taping the show will air Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
