MONROE (WIFR) -- Monroe Clinic is once again offering two types of scholarships for students seeking a career in a health-related field. The deadline for application submission for both scholarships is March 15, 2013.
High School Seniors
Monroe Clinic Volunteers In Partnership awards four $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors each year. Applications are available from the counselors at high schools within Monroe Clinic’s service area — Green or Lafayette counties in Wisconsin; and Stephenson, Jo Daviess or Winnebago counties in Illinois.
Advance Study Students
Applications for five $1,500 scholarships are now being accepted for college students. Applicants must have completed at least one year of advanced study (beyond high school) in a health-related field and be one of the following:
• A resident of a community with a Monroe Clinic location
• A resident within Monroe Clinic’s service area
• An employee or the child of a Monroe Clinic employee
The successful applicants are selected on scholastic merit, citizenship, need and expressed interest in the healthcare field. Applications are reviewed by a three-member scholarship committee and remain confidential. The $1,500 scholarship is paid directly to the recipient’s school.
Students who have received a $500 scholarship in the past are eligible to apply for the advance study scholarship. However, an individual may only receive each scholarship once.
Applications are available at Monroe Clinic’s human resources (St. Clare Center, 1st floor) or at monroeclinic.org under the news button. For questions, contact Dawn Meier at firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-324-1569.
