ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Avoiding serious accidents is always in the back of our minds, especially as we head into prom season.
Students at Jefferson High School got a very life-like glimpse at what intoxicated and distracted driving can do. Blood-covered actors pretended to have gotten into a wreck. The Rockford Police and Fire Departments took part, as well as, the coroner and OFS Saint Anthony's Lifeline helicopter. Students seemed to get the message about the importance of being responsible.
