A local museum takes history to the extreme this weekend with a realistic battle.
World War II Days at Midway Village is the largest event of it's kind, with more than 1,000 re-enactors from across the nation. The event also show-cased memorabilia from the 1940's, including several military vehicles.
"People really get in to the cultural period as well," said David Byrnes, President or Midway Village. "We have a lot of civilians who dress up in the period. Both the war and civilian life"
Midway Village was just honored by the Illinois Association of Museums for several exhibits.
