CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says she is still "very seriously considering" running for governor in 2014.
Madigan spoke to reporters Tuesday, after former White House chief of staff Bill Daley announced he'll challenge Gov. Pat Quinn in a Democratic primary.
Madigan is a Chicago Democrat and the daughter of powerful House Speaker Michael Madigan. She hasn't indicated when she might announce her plans.
Daley said Tuesday Illinois needs new leadership to address the nation's worst state pension crisis and other issues.
Quinn's campaign issued a statement saying he has "a strong record of getting things done for the people of Illinois."
Republican state Treasurer Dan Rutherford and venture capitalist Bruce Rauner also have announced they are running.
