MACHESNEY PARK (WIFR) - A Machesney Park home is damaged after a fire broke out Thursday night.
North Park fire crews responded to a fire late Thursday at a home in the 7600 block of Scott Lane. A neighbor had called reporting smoke coming from the roof of the building.
The North Park deputy fire chief says firefighters made their way into the home when they arrived. Due to evidence from the ceiling and kitchen, they deduced the fire began in the attic. Crews got the fire under control within 30 minutes.
No one was home at the time. About $30,000 is estimated at this time. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
