FREEPORT (WIFR) -- A local group is teaming up with Freeport residents to help clean up their neighborhood.
The group is a part of Freeport's Dream Center. It's a chance for residents to fix up their neighborhood while meeting those who live next door. Today the organization cleaned up several yards including raking leaves. Volunteers have completed more than 420 work hours in the last two months and expect that number to rise this winter.
Cassaundra Eden, organizer, says, "I think it's successful because we are genuine. We just want to be a good neighbor and a good friend and if we are able to help out, we want to be able to do that."
Volunteers plan to help shovel snow this winter for elderly residents. If you would like to help out with Adopt-A-Block, you can email ceden@crossroadscn.com for more information.
