STATELINE (WIFR) -- A former Loves Park woman is expected to testify this week against the man responsible for shooting her and 44 others at a military base in Texas nearly four years ago.
Dorrie Carskadon is in Texas preparing to face the man charged with killing 13 people and wounding 32 others at Fort Hood Army base near Killeen Texas in November 2009.
Nidal Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the shooting. He was an Army psychiatrist at the time when he opened fire on a group of unarmed soldiers and civilians at the base. Dorrie was one of them. There’s a likelihood of Dorrie having to face and answer to the man who almost killed her since Hasan is acting as his own attorney in the trial. That gives him the right to cross examine witnesses in open court.
Hasan has reportedly declined cross examinations so far during the trial.
We don’t know when this week Dorrie Carskadon will be testifying.
