ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Local kids are getting the chance to learn from musical pros.

This is the first of a four performance series hosted by the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. Symphony Saturdays are for children ages 5 to 10. It helps them learn about woodwind, percussion, brass, and string instruments. Each performance introduces kids to a different instrument family. They then get to participate in hands-on activities. The next Symphony Saturday will be held February 9th at the Riverfront Museum on North Main.
