Lifescape Announces Upcoming Community Events

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -– Lifescape Community Services is announcing that Northwest Bank and
Stillman Bank will serve as ticket outlets for the 20th Senior Follies to be held May 14, 2013,
at Rockford First Church, Spring Creek and N. Mulford Roads.

Tickets will be on sale beginning March 1 at all four locations of Northwest Bank, 1100
Ralston Road in Machesney Park, 5305 N. 2nd Street in Loves Park and at 3106 N. Rockton
Avenue and 125 N. Phelps Avenue in Rockford, along with the Stillman Bank location at
8492 East State Street. Tickets are $10 and will be available for both the 2:00 p.m. and
6:30 shows. Tickets will be available during lobby business hours.

Tickets are also available between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. during the senior breakfast
at Logli locations on Harlem Road in Loves Park and at 6410 E. State Street, at Lifescape
Community Services at 705 Kilburn Ave, Rockford, by phone at 815.963.1609 and online
at www.lifescapeservices.org.

“Thanks for the Memories – Celebrating 20 Years of Senior Follies” features an all volunteer,
all‐senior cast performing many highlights from the past two decades of Senior
Follies productions. There will be plenty of music and dancing with a little comedy thrown
in, too! This is a great way to celebrate family and tickets would make a great Mother’s
Day gift.

Additionally, Lifescape Community Services, Inc. is holding a series of free workshops to
teach older adults, their families and caregivers about safe medicine use and encourage
parents to routinely review and discuss medicines with their healthcare providers. This
program is part of a national initiative called Medication Use Safety Training for Seniors or
MUST for Seniors. The program is administered by Lifescape and made possible by a grant
from the Northwest Illinois Area Agency on Aging.

This program is important because older adults make up 13 percent of the population,
but account for 34 percent of all prescription medication use and 30 percent of all over‐the
‐counter (OTC) drug use. Most older adults live with at least one chronic condition, take
multiple medications, have more than one prescribing health care provider and use at
least one pharmacy.

If you would like more information about MUST for Seniors, contact Health and Wellness
Coordinator Susan Smith at Lifescape Community Services at 815.963.1609 or visit
www.lifescapeservices.org.

MUST workshops are being held:

March 14 at 3:30 p.m. at Olesen Plaza, 511 N. Church St, Rockford
March 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1120 W 1st St, Dixon
March 27 at 11:00 a.m. aer lunch at First Lutheran Church, 627 Taylor St, Pecatonica.
