BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- Candidates are canvassing the area, desperately searching for votes before the March primary.
Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger hosted a town hall meeting at Heritage Woods in Belvidere. Kinzinger told residents lawmakers need to keep their promises to seniors who've already paid into Medicare and Social Security. The republican candidate took questions from the crowd and says he welcomes input from the community.
16th District Candidate Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) said, "The job is a Congressman is to be there and to hear the concerns people have. If they're mad at you, let them be mad at you. Talk to them about what's going on. Leading by example means you're going to work hard, travel a lot, and listen to what people have to say."

Manzullo been in there long enough. What has he done or any of them that makes running for office a career. They run this country down the tubes. Lets cut there pay, retirement and there health care
I hope people are giving this young man a chance. ANYBODY would be better than Manzullo. He has repeatedly tried to get manufacturing back to Rockford. Why wasn't he pushing technology and college educations when mfg first started leaving Rockford. He is also responsible for backing the outsourcing of jobs. He needs to be voted out of office.
I met Congressman Kinzinger tonight at yet another town hall meeting for Right to Carry here in Illinois and I think he's a really good guy and is doing afine job so far. I respect this bright young man and his policies. Believe me, he's going to bring Illinois into the 21st century. I would follow this guy into hell if there was such a place and he's getting my votes in anything he pursues.
