A two day roadblock on the southside of Janesville earlier this week results in more than three dozen arrests.
Janesville Police led the sweep and were assisted by several state law enforcement agenices on Wednesday and Thursday.
The main focus was highway safety and interdiction of illegal contraband into and out of the city of Janesville. The areas of focus were the south side of Janesville including the Hwy 11 bypass, Beloit Ave, Center Ave./Hwy 51, and I-90 east and westbound.
During the operation Officers and State Troopers initiated 101 traffic stops of which 66 citations and 139 warnings were issued. During these traffic stops, 26 arrests were made and 9 outstanding warrant arrests were made. Agents from probation/parole made contact with 25 different individuals currently on supervision. Of those 3 were taken into custody and held at the Rock County Jail for violations of supervision.
Future operations for 2013 are being planned with these agencies.
