"I Built My Business" Bus Tour Rolls into Rockford

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Small business owners are aiming to make a difference in the upcoming election. Today the "I Built My Business" bus tour rolled into Rockford. On board are members of the National Federation of Independent Business. They're traveling across battleground states, to talk with local business owners about some of the challenges they're facing. The title of the tour comes from a remark made by president Obama who was trying to make the point that business owners wouldn't be successful without the infrastructure built by federal and local governments.

"My dad's a pretty outspoken guy, but was pretty upset when President Obama said, 'You didn't build that.' So we talked about it for a month after he said that, and so when they called me and said 'This is I Build My Business' bus tour, I normally don't do things like this, I said 'This is one I think we should get involved in," said owner of J & M Plating, Mark Morris.

Democrats argue the president's statement was taken out of context.
