House Fire on Searles Ave. Under Investigation

If you want to help the fire victims, you drop off items at 1110 17th Ave. Apt 4 or call Melissa Lewis at 773-455-4333.

The victims are in need of men's pants 36x36 and 38x32, shirts size 2x and shoe sizes 12. Also, deodorant, soaps, shampoo, tooth brushes, tooth paste, towels, washcloths, razors and shaving cream.
 

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man returns home Monday evening to find his house on fire.

The fire broke out around 5:15 p.m. in the 3100 block of Searles Avenue. Were told the homeowner tried to put out the blaze using a fire extinguisher, but he couldn't get it under control, so he called 911. Eight fire departments were sent to help put out the fire. A wood burning stove may have sparked the fire, but the state fire marshal has been called in to investigate. No on was hurt.
