DURAND (WIFR)-- A group that teaches kids and adults about some very unique animals gives families the chance to see the birds up close and personal.
Hoo Haven in Durand hosted its 5th annual open house Sunday afternoon. More than 600 people toured the wildlife rehabilitation center. Visitors got to interact with several animals that call the center home, including a bald eagle and some smaller birds native to our area. Hoo Haven recently acquired two barn owls, a species that is endangered in Illinois.
The center offers educational programs year round. To learn more visit: http://www.hoohaven.org/
