Holiday Mailing Tips from the Post Office

ILLINOIS (WIFR) -- If you're planning on mailing any gifts this year, Illinois post office employees are giving us some tips to make sure our presents arrive on time.

First-class mail should be sent by December 20th to arrive in time for Christmas. Express mail should be sent by December 22nd. The post office also recommends that we put a card with both the delivery and return addresses inside each box, in case the outer labels fall off or are destroyed. The U.S. Postal Service has seen a double digit increase in package shipments already this holiday season.
