FREEPORT (WIFR) -- The Northwest Illinois College Fair and “Pathways to Careers Fair” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 29, on the second floor of Highland Community College’s Student/Conference Center.
High school students and their parents will have the opportunity to explore career options as well as visit with admissions representatives from over 60 colleges. A presentation on financial aid will also take place at 7:30 p.m. downstairs in the HCC cafeteria.
According to Highland’s Enrollment Outreach Specialist Karl Richards, the inclusion of a career fair with an already successful college fair allows parents and students to make more informed decisions regarding their education.
“Young people and their parents will get the most up-to-date information about job possibilities now and in the future from professionals engaged in their field,” said Richards. “They can then go explore the institutions that provide training in the very same evening.”
As part of the interactive event, Highland faculty from the following departments will be available to answer questions:
• Criminal Justice
• Communications & Broadcasting
• Allied Health
• Life Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Wind Technology
• Business/Accounting/Computer Science
