Highland Chorale Invites Community Singers to Concert Rehearsals

FREEPORT (WIFR) -- Rehearsals for the Highland Chorale will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, in the Ferguson Fine Arts Building, room 10. Local residents who enjoy singing are encouraged to attend rehearsals for a spring choral celebration in honor of Highland’s 50th anniversary.

Weekly rehearsals will be held at 7 p.m. every Tuesday with exception of February 12 and March 19. Audio recordings will be available to assist with the learning process.

Repertoire to be performed will include "Gloria," John Rutter (first movement only); "Worthy Is the Lamb," G. F. Handel; "Alleluia" from Christ on the Mount of Olives, Ludwig Beethoven; "The Heavens Are Telling" from The Creation, F. J. Haydn; "Ave Verum Corpus," W. A. Mozart; and "Crown Him King," J. S. Bach.

The Highland Chorale concert will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at the United Presbyterian Church, 302 W. Stephenson St., Freeport.
