CHERRY VALLEY (WIFR) – Hundreds of shoppers lined up outside the Stateline’s newest store, another sign of an economic upswing.
They’re lines comparable to Black Friday, hundreds of shoppers waiting hours to get their first glimpse inside CherryVale Mall’s newest store, H&M. One of five new businesses opening this year.
“I have been here for 12 hours.”
Ricardo Kuri has been holding his spot since midnight, taking naps in the parking lot and making new friends along the way.
The store’s opening has motivated more than 200 people to attend. It wasn’t your typical day at the mall with entertainment, fancy foods, and free gift cards all while waiting for the official ribbon cutting. Tabatha Hernandez and her husband won $400 in H&M cash, for being the first in line.
While the couple is thrilled about their new shopping spree, the mall’s general manager is also celebrating.
“We have a positive direction going here at the mall. We added Taco Bell, Maurices, Aéropostale PS for the children."
The new store employs nearly 20 people, many we’re told are from the area. Workers say the new shop will not only boost wardrobe, but the local economy.
Customers can get 15% off if they bring a bag of clothes to donate.
