CHICAGO (AP) -- Governor Pat Quinn has decided to host Mexico State Governor Eruviel Avila next week as part of an effort to increase trade between the two states. This effort comes as a result of Quinn's trade mission to Mexico City last year..
Avila's visit will include a ribbon-cutting at Mexico's new trade office and a wreath-laying at the Benito Juarez statue in Chicago He will also visit the Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield. Avila's visit is scheduled for Sunday, February 9th through the following Wednesday.
Avila says he is eager to continue discussions about increasing commerce and tourism between residents of Illinois and Mexico state.
