LENA (WIFR) -- Longtime State Representative Jim Sacia may be set to leave Springfield. But he still wants to let it be known who he would like to see lead in Springfield.
The soon to be Retiring 89th district representative traveled throughout his district with Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Rutherford. Sacia says the current state treasurer would be the best choice to lead Illinois through it's current fiscal problems. As a central Illinois native Rutherford says he understands the importance of agriculture to our economy.
"You know Chicago deserves it's fair share, but so does Stephenson County and Jo Davies County and Whiteside County and Winnebago and Boone Counties.and all the way around. Agriculture is not a big issue in the downtown and the loop of Chicago. And yet, it's so significant on the employment, so significant on the economy and besides that they're the ones that feed us. And as the Governor I want to be sure I have attention given to all in the state of Illinois," Rutherford said.
Rutherford is joined in the Republican Gubernatorial Primary with current State Senators Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady, as well as, Chicago businessman Bruce Rauner.
