Gas Prices Expected to Go Down in a Few Weeks

ROCKFORD (WIFR) - Average gas prices have risen nearly 10 cents per gallon this week, averaging at $4.11 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, that's 31 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 54 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

The national average remains at $3.64 per gallon. That price has nearly increased by seven cents per gallon in the last month and another seven cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

"Refineries continue to be beset with shutdowns, maintenance, and other problems that have hampered production of gasoline and other products, leading to much higher prices," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst. "Relief is on the way and will likely arrive in a few weeks."
