FREEPORT (WIFR) – Workers in Freeport are having a difficult time finding a new location for their Salvation Army after the building’s roof collapsed this winter.
The Storefront at Freeport’s Lincoln Mall sits empty with the inside completely gutted out. Employees haven’t found an ideal location just yet. Donations can still be made in Freeport by dropping off items at three donation bins that sit in an empty lot across from the Rawleigh building on the city’s east side.
“We’re looking for a location that’s suitable, easy to shop in, safe for our people, enough parking, and easy access without stairs. There are a lot of empty buildings I n Freeport, but we haven’t found one yet that’s going to work for our needs,” says Major Robert McClintock.
