Former Owner of Rockford's Frank Lloyd Wright Home Dies
The former owner of Rockford's Frank Lloyd Wright home has passed away.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The former owner of Rockford's Frank Lloyd Wright home has passed away.

Kenneth Laurent died Tuesday night a Rockford Memorial Hospital. The Belvidere High School graduate served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Laurent was hurt during his time in the armed services, leaving him disabled. That's why he contacted Wright to build the first wheelchair accessible home in the country.

Laurent was 92-year-old and is survived by his wife Phyllis.

Funeral services will be this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home, North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St. Visitation will be held before the service starting at Noon to 1:45 p.m.
