UPDATE: Methane Gas Explosions Reported Upon Arrival at South Beloit Fire

UPDATE: South Beloit fire crews say a fire at the Behr recycling plant produced methane gas explosions upon arrival.

The fire started inside the building. 13 area fire departments were called in to assist.

The plant was not in operation at the time. It is believed the temperature rose too high in the building for some of the metals, sparking a fire. About $10,000 is estimated in total damage.
