ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The death of a well-liked motorcyclist is a big shock to much of the community. George Foster’s friends and family members are spending most of the evening reflecting on his life through a candlelight vigil.

His ID card said George, but all his friends and family called him Jason, and it’s his fun loving demeanor the people who knew him best say they’ll miss the most.

Foster’s friends and family embraced each other as they gathered on the corner of Weaver Road and North Perryville Road for a candlelight vigil tonight. They were standing just feet away from where the 25 year-old was killed by an alleged drunk driver. Police tell us Jason’s motorcycle was hit by a minivan trying to turn onto Weaver off of Perryville. Jason’s friends say they’ll remember him as a jokester.

"He'd always come over and yell at me, “let's get into the pool,”... [I’d say], “ it's cold,” [and he’d say], “I don't care,” and he'd throw me in, so now we're swimming,” Adria Alley said reflecting on a memory with Jason. “We just always had a great time. We always picked on each other but it was because we loved each other."

It turns out the driver Brad Carlson of Rockford was allegedly drunk. He was charged with DUI.

George “Jason” Foster was 25.
