SPRINGFIELD (WIFR) -- After an two days in Springfield lawmakers adjourned from the first week of the fall veto session a day early.
They will return to their districts with virtually nothing accomplished. None of the major issues like pension reform, gay marriage or gambling expansion reached the house or senate floor.
23 News has learned that all four leaders from the house and senate have scheduled a meeting early next week to try to work on a pension solution. The hope is to have something ready to vote on when lawmakers return for the second half of the veto session starting November 5.
